1. Setup: Place the treadle shearing machine on a sturdy and level work surface. Ensure that it is firmly anchored or secured to prevent movement during operation. Adjust the blade clearance and ensure the blades are sharp and properly aligned for the type of material being cut.

2. Positioning: Position the metal sheet or plate to be cut on the machine's cutting bed or table. Align the workpiece with the cutting line marked on the bed or use a guide to ensure straight and accurate cuts.

3. Foot Operation: The machine is activated by using a foot-operated pedal, often called a treadle. The operator places their foot on the pedal and applies pressure to engage the shearing mechanism.

4. Cutting: As the operator presses down on the treadle, the machine's cutting blades come together to shear the metal along the cutting line. The force applied by the operator's foot determines the speed and effectiveness of the cut.

5. Repeat: If needed, the operator can release the pressure on the treadle to lift the cutting blades, reposition the workpiece, and then continue cutting by pressing the pedal again. This process allows for continuous and repetitive cutting.

6. Safety: Safety is of utmost importance when using a foot-operated treadle shearing machine. Operators should wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves and eye protection. They should also be familiar with the machine's safety features, emergency stop mechanisms, and proper handling techniques.
